An influx of several new players boosted turnout to 10 this week. Thanks to Mel Tagala of Rockford, IL for driving what had to be 90 minutes or more each way to play some table hockey. He brought his son Ethan, Ethan's friend Nevin, and family friend Chuck Zapf of Palatine, IL, which is about a good hour away. Mel and Chuck played some table hockey back in the day, and it showed. Mel had a decent RW-C pass going on and Chuck displayed quickness on the rods and a hard shot. Jim Rzonca was the big winner, losing only to Eric Krol and tying Joe Salazar in two of his last games of the double round robin. John Medema played solidly to take second as he continues to improve his game. Salazar was third, showing his regular play is paying dividends. He edged out Krol by a point as the two split their head-to-head games. Ventura Sias, still a newcomer who improves each week, finished fifth. And he brought along his son Dante to play as well.
