Peter Basdeckis wore an old-school White Sox hat in making his LTHL debut.
The Report
Jerry Miller Sr. made his return to action against a fellow old-timer, cagey veteran Rich Thill.
The LTHL was back at it and with a bigger-than-expected turnout. John
Medema was the story of the night, taking first place after starting
out with a 13-0-0 run in the first two round robins. In the third, he
went 3-2-2, but that was good enough to edge out Jim Rzonca for the top
spot by a point. Third place went to the improving Joe Salazar, who had
only four losses on the evening. Jerry Miller made his return to table
hockey after hand surgery and we had a first-timer in the house as
well. Peter Basdeckis drove at least an hour to get to Lemont and
showed off his new Coleco-style game made by Carlo Bossio of Montreal.
It's got the Blackhawks at center ice. Like many of us, Peter found out
about table hockey through the internet, poking around eBay until he
found some links that brought him back after a two-decade absence. He
plans to play in the Coleco tournament on Friday, July 27 at the VFW
Hall. Ventura Sias also put in an appearance after work to play the
final two rounds. Thank you for the dedication, Ventura.

Jim Rzonca plays table hockey so fast, it's tough to get a non-blurry picture of him.
