The LTHL was full of surprises as it met for Week 9 of league play. Tim
Walker drove down from the Detroit area and surprised everyone with an
appearance. Walker wanted to tune up for the big Stiga U.S. Open
tournament on July 28. He got an initiation into LTHL Stiga play. Mike
Lisowski, a Coleco legend in Chicago, came out to test out the Coleco
games for the big Coleco U.S. Open tournament on July 27 and ended up
playing a night of Stiga. And Jeff Farwell came out for a tune up as
well. Jerry Miller Sr. played and brought his son for a round. Jim
Rzonca ended up having to make a quick run home to get more games and
spare parts. While the night was full of surprises, at evening's end
there was no surprise about who was in first. It was Rob Chargo,
rounding into form for the big Stiga tournament. He went 18-2-3, with
one of those losses a forfeit to Lisowski in the evening's final game.
Rzonca finished second and Eric Krol was third.
