The first week of the summer season saw our strongest turnout in a long
time as 13 players faced off on a nice night (May 3) at the Lemont VFW.
It was a hard fought battle for the top spots and in the end, Jim
Rzonca, who won the winter league tournament, came out on top. He
bested John Medema by a point. Joe Salazar won a tiebreaker over Eric
Krol for third with a 1-0-1 record in head-to-head action. Continuing
to make strides was Eric Davis, who finished with a .500 record that
was good enough for sixth place. He's adopted the Ken Dubois-style of
using a chair/bicycle seat to save on back strain. Making their debuts
were Aaron and John Ingo, the teenage sons of Bob Ingo, who made his
debut last time. The fine young gentlemen were very quick to the rods,
taking after their father. They'll be looking to do some damage at the
end of July in the U.S. Open. Next up is the Shark Tank on May 25.
