LTHL Summer Season Week 5

Week 5 took place at the United Center of all places.

The Report

The LTHL made its debut at the United Center, taking part in the Blackhawks Fan Training Camp. Several thousand people who showed up for $5 a pop got to watch the Hawks practice and take part in indoor and outdoor activities. We had limited space but it was enough to set up a few games. Tons of people tried out the two Stiga and one custom Coleco s-slot game set up. They got to have fun and discover (or rediscover, in many cases) table hockey. We got some names for our e-mail list and got to hand out some flyers. A good time was had by all. Thank you to the Chicago Blackhawks organization. Oh, and we got in some quick league action too. Jim Rzonca was tough all day, only dropping one to second-place finisher Eric Krol. John Medema took third, splitting his two games with Krol. One more week to go in league play until the playoffs. Krol and Medema are now tied for second place in the regular season. Who will snare the second seed for the playoffs? We next play on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. at either the VFW or Vito and Nick's Pizza.
