2009 LTHL Winter Season Week 2

The Report

The LTHL was back in action for a Las Vegas tournament tuneup on back for another season on Jan. 10 at Vito and Nick's in Lemont. Rob Chargo, who's headed to Vegas, went unbeaten. He suffered only one tie, a 2-2 game against Eric Krol. Chargo had such a lead on the night that he skipped the fourth and final round robin to head home in the cold and snow and STILL finished first. Taking second was Vegas maven Jim Rzonca. Three of Jim's five losses were to Chargo, with Krol and John Medema getting the other two wins off Jim. Medema and Krol tied, but John won the head-to-head 3-1 and had more wins. Roger Carlson had a tough first three rounds, but put together an impressive three-game win streak near the end and also played Rzonca tough. Ventura Sias started out OK but went winless in the final round robin.
